Roger Federer beats Mikhail Youzhny to win Halle title (BBC Sport)

It is the first time since 2007 that Federer has come back from a set down in the semis and final to triumph at an ATP World Tour event. "I have won a lot in my career but not recently," said world number three Federer, whose last tournament win came in Cincinnati. "I was satisfied with my game in the past 10 months. Maybe people thought I was playing badly but that was not the case. "I was playing well but when it mattered the others were just better. Today it worked well."

Roger Federer comes back against Mikhail Youzhny to win in Halle (The Guardian)

Before beating Mikhail Youzhny for the 15th time in a row to lift his sixth Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Roger Federer said: "Winning tournaments is everything." It was a Bob Paisley-esque evocation to tempt fate and the Swiss delivered. Federer overcame an uncertain start to win 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 in just over two hours and he is in good, although not devastating, shape to defend his title at Wimbledon. Whether or not he can reproduce his German form in London is uncertain because the familiar contenders grouped around the world No3 at the summit of the game are probably playing more consistent high-end tennis.

Federer claims sixth Halle crown (Fox News)

Federer lost to Rafael Nadal in his other final this year last month in Rome. He was a quarterfinal loser to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga last weekend at the French Open, but was able to turn around his season on his favorite surface. Grass has always suited Federer well. Seven of his record 17 Grand Slam titles have come on the famed lawns of Wimbledon, where he will return later this month as defending champion. Federer, who is now 6-2 in title matches in Halle, improved to 121-17 on grass.

Roger Federer ends victory drought (Los Angeles Times)

Roger Federer found the perfect place to end his title drought — a small town in western Germany that has a big tennis stadium and a street named Roger-Federer-Allee leading to it.

Thanks, Roger, for bringing up the news. However, no news (and it is wonderful to have it) will ever describe the magnificence you are, the inspiration you give us. God bless you.

Hi Roger many congratulations on a great victory in Halle. Mikhail was in top form to give you a very good match as was Tommy in the semi-final. A great start to the grass season which bodes well for Wimbledon!

All the very best for SW19 and retaining your Wimbledon title - you can do it!

best wishes to you and your lovely family,

Hey Champ, I'm pretty sure you've been focusing more on this Grass season and the 2nd half of the season this year (hence no titles so far). You're gonna be menacing starting from Wimbledon. Just focus and get the job done... I know many media circles like to quote the other guys as favs but nobody knows until it happens (like last year). It was a similar situation last year. Only difference, you won some titles since you were targeting No1 position. This year that's not the priority... Simple..

YES! I loved the quote above - ""I was satisfied .... Maybe people thought I was playing badly but that was not the case. "I was playing well but when it mattered the others were just better. Today it worked well." Also nice - "Winning tournaments is everything."
JUST everything right about these words. Very you. Very Perfect. Go Roger. My prayers and well wishes are for you for Wimbledon. The winner of that finals match will be you.

Roger watch highlight of Djokovic Vs Nadal where Djokovic win everyday to come up with the idea on how to beat Nadal and have matches as a practice those ideas. think every opponents as if you are playing against Nadal and execute your thought to beat Nadal efficiently. improve your backhand return and reduce errors. on opponent's serve game, add in Nadal style of moonballing which avoide net errors with your genius attacking tennis. repeat practice sections until you retire, you beat nadal easy
