Wimbledon: the draw

22.06.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger faces a truly tough challenge for the defense of his Wimbledon crown this year: he could meet Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals, Andy Murray in the semis and then Novak Djokovic in the final.

Roger will open his quest for an eight title on Monaday against Victor Hanesecu of Romania (ATP 47), against whom he has won all five encounters so far. Sergiy Stakhovsky (ATP 117) or Rogerio Dutra Silva (ATP 102) could follow in round two.
Fabio Fognini (ATP 30) and Nicolas Almagro (ATP 15) would then be possible opponents before an explosive quarter-final against Rafael Nadal - this year's no.5 seed.

All the players in Roger's quarter: Beware of Nadal and his uncle's cheating tactics, fake time-outs and on-court coaching! Don't get distracted by that (like Haase, Petzchner in 2010, Delpo in 2011...). Stay focused and intense (like Rosol in 2012) and you can beat him on Grass...

So, it has started already. I have not surprised about the Sunday times and I agree it is appalling. As defending champion Roger should be featured, let alone he has been Wimbledon for the last 10 years. An amazing feat in itself and worth commenting on and deserving of a TV programme of its own. A feat which needs celebrating. Let us hope Rogi can make it no 8 this year, he will need all our support. Come on Rogi!

Its really sad but not surprising the Sunday Times snubbed our defending champion like this. ROGER FEDERER is Wimbledon. I will complain too. Its weird how the bbc are showing programs on Serena and Venus and Andy Murray but nothing on RF. Typical but still Appalling! I just hope they're all left heads hanging when our gorgeous champ wins this year too. Love you Roger.

Roger, it's time to adopt the Cartoon Character game once more. It really helps if you just assign characters to your " big" opponents. How about playing against Pumuckl, (Rafa), Struppi (Andy), and Globi (Djokovic). ? Surely you are much better than these three characters, and can beat them, dictate your game, be aggressive and Lift That Atrophy! And prayers, lots of prayers from your family, from your fans and from yourself. God bless you with your 8 th Wimbeldon Trophy dear Roger. ~3

NOCHWEITERROGER I too have sent an email. That's really appalling of The Sunday Times. I think everyone should write regardless of where they are living.

I have just received an automatic reply saying they require full address and telephone number which they will shorten to protect your privacy should they publish it.

This again is their email address - letters@sunday-times.co.uk
