A perfect start

24.06.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger made a perfect start into the tournament in Wimbledon with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 win over Victor Hanescu.

Looking back at his first title in 2003, Roger commented: "It's slightly different. Nine years ago when I came out the first time, it was the most special thing in the world. It still feels amazing. It was an absolute pleasure playing on Centre Court."

Roger found his rhythm right from the start, winning 90 percent of the points when he put his first serve in. He scored seven aces and just six unforced errors. In the final set, Roger left a mere 4 points for Hanescu to score.

Our champ will now meet Sergej Stachowski (ATP 116) in round two. Roger clearly won the only match between them so far.

I am glad that when I watched you played I watched every minutes of it without leave, especially this one. So I know how you fought and argue when someone d say you played badly. Hope this loss will not stop you, the ranking is not matter as long as you r still willing to play. You will b coming back soon.

Roger will be more motivated to win US Open which he has not made the final for some time. Go champ, I'll be staying up late night to watch you. Rest well, rejunevate, get hungry again, and give it your all at US Open.

And Sergei played out of his skin, it wasn't Roger who lost but Sergei who won, by the tiniest of margins, imagine all sets went to 7.I give the guy credit. And if anyone watched Sampras-Federer this match had that same feel, that's what I told my parents, but I was going to watch it no matter what the outcome, that is a true supporter.

Roger is the reason I watch Wimbledon, is the reason I watch tennis, so ofcourse please play as long as you wish, each match is a privilege. I still want to watch you play live, so please play because tennis will never be the same when you retire. So all the retards saying you must retire, stfu. He needs to improve if he can.He never get walloped like Nadal did, it was the closest match until the final point.
