Roger to play Hamburg

03.07.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 2

I am also looking forward to competing in Hamburg this summer. I always did very well at Rothenbaum, played some fantastic matches and celebrated important victories there - great memories!

the media has buried roger so many times i've lost count. 2008, 2009 at AO when nadal won and roger cried. 2011 when he did not win a slam. 2012 before he won wimby. every time they have been wrong. their guessing is not gospel. so get used to it and ignore them. believe it or not they were much worse on pete sampras when he won no titles big or small for 2 yrs. he lost to player #145 at wimby after he had 7 wimby trophies. they trashed him naturally. he then won USO and never played again.

1. I had a surreal experience seeing Murray with the trophy, it didnt look good in his hands but the loss to Roger last year made him turn his whole game around - what a difference a year makes. He had a wake up call and i think Roger has had one too.

Novak didnt play at all yesterday, someone mentioned he handed the win to Andy, perhaps so but it was Andys day.

Roger will have his days back again...seeing him drop to #5 in the rankings is like salt in the wounds.

I'm sad too :(

The way Murray destroy Djokovic at wimbledon show he is the gretest of all time where Djokovic comment he is every where in the tennis court.... it is very sad now no body in the world can touch him.. As Jimmy Connors mentioned Roger just have to train rountinely as usual & play his own game, don't over train to injur himself.. God bless to you Roger for the next tournament

Fancyfree aren't you getting a bit carried away ?

- SUSSY18 'S FEELINGS ARE ALREADY WRECKED - LEAVE THE poor GUY ALONE - HE WASN'T EVEN yelling - the poor guy was already down - leave the guy alone.

SUSSY18 - it's ok - I know how you feel - I've never known you to yell or be rude in any way.

I agree w/you, Fancyfree, on one thing - we both didn't want Murray to win but sadly Djoko had no bloody idea how to play.

I don't know why, I have good fillings of USO. I think Roger will come there more motivated than ever to show that he can win more slams, and era of GOAT is still intact.

good job by murray. anytime roger is not there to win a GS then i am for murray or anybody winning except nadal and/or djokovic. keep them as far away from 17 GS as possible. of course i want roger to win everthing. that is impossible so i go for the opponents of those 2, especially nadal. roger is #5 now which is ok considering his yr so far. he may go to #6 or 7 before long. in top 3 for 10 yrs is phenomenal. we knew it couldn't last forever. by yr end, who knows? i think he may rise again.

Cont: I hope Fed comes back with a bang next year. He should be kitted out in brilliant white - blind everyone!
Also the Wimb programme this year didn't have Fed's pic on the front - probably because of Murray's Olympic win but that was the Olympics, NOT Wimbledon.
I do think Fed didn't get the respect he has earned over the years.

Cont: Macenroe and Becker should be ashamed of all the biased comments. It was as if Fed didn't exist anymore. Only Tim Henman - who is a friend of Fed's was trying to say that Fed didn't need to change much. Mac and Becker were too busy chatting up Stakhovsky. I did feel that the Wimb officials had decided that this was Murray's year. The whole thing about Fed's shoes was a farce - no respect for the 7x champion. It was Murray's time but they didn't have to brush Fed out of the picture.

It was odd to see someone else holding the Wimbledon trophy.
Nobody epitomises Wimbledon quite the way RF does. Such biased coverage by BBC. I agree that Fed has it to win 1-2 more slams but it would be great if he got one each of all of them.
Didn't watch the final but it doesn't sound thrilling - unlike Fed's finals.
By the way a "golden slam" is all 4 slams and Olympic gold in the same calendar year and the only person that has achieved this is Steffi Graf, not Rafa and not the Bryans.
