Hamburg: the draw

15.07.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger is back on court in Hamburg - a clay-court tournament he hasn't participated in since 2008. He won the tournament four times in the past:
2002 (victory against Safin), 2004 (victory against Coria), 2005 (victory against Gasquet) and 2007 (victory against Nadal).

After a first round bye our champ will probably play against the winner of the match between Germany's Daniel Brands (ATP 53) or Italy's Paolo Lorenzi (ATP 70) on Wednesday.

In the second round, he could meet Latvia's Ernests Gulbis (ATP 36) before an encounter against Alexandr Dolgopolov (ATP 24) is possible. In the semifinals, Poland's Jerzy Janowicz (ATP 17) could be his opponent before a clash with Germany's Tommy Haas (ATP 11) in the final.

"At Wimbledon, it was strange to go out so early and I didn't know what to do," said Roger about his participation in Hamburg and Gstaad. "But I had a clear plan 48 hours later to play at Hamburg and Gstaad."

When I saw the lighlights (not even the whole match !!!) of AO 2007 SF against
Roddick, I was just shocked !!! How can anyone be THAT good.
To say he was destroying Andy is an understatement !!!

Even I (his die die hard fan) looked at Roger and said: Stop it Roger, leave Roddick alone !!!

I first watched him in the 2005 Wimbledon final, never saw an opponent get destroyed like what Fed did to Roddick. Since 2001 I hadn't watched tennis as Sampras was at his twilight and then retired. But once I saw Federer I was like hey this guy is even better than Sampras, like fuel to fire, I was hooked and back then I did not know if it would be for life, now I know it is for life.

For you all.................

If you miss Roger, watch the Wimby Final 2012 from the second set
5-5 till the end ceremony.
Now that was the Roger show featuring Andy.
Before the second set 5-5 it was unfortunately the Andy show, but after that....

Roger was killing it and him with his shots, even Judy Murray was shaking her head in disbelief.

I saw that cover of Vogue. WOW........ What about those pictures of Moet with the taxeto on !!!

Really, Roger is ONE HANDSOME DUDE. I cannot believe that is the same guy who gave his winningspeech at Wimby 2003, half crying, very nervous, all acne and with a ponytail and with a Swiss/English accent !!!

How far has he come in 10 years. From a kid with acne to a gentleman with a flawless reputation and with seriously a to die for handsomeness !!!

About the haircut:

The new cut is nice but like most i prefer the lovely long thatch of hair he has...the curls and those flicks he does when he plays. Beautiful.

Also, when Roger wears a sharp suit that hair all brushed back, looking slick - honestly is so awesome. He looks vintage, classic, refined and so not like an athlete.

I bet most of his peers would kill to be able to look as hot n sharp as he does. No wonder he made Mens Vogue 1st Cover, Anna Wintour loves him.
