18.07.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger easily advanced to the round of the last eight in Hamburg, defeating Czech qualifier Jan Hajek 6-4, 6-3 today.

Roger had some trouble with his game in the beginning, but nevertheless secured the first set 6-4. He continued to raise his game, not allowing a single break-point in the second set, eventually closing out the match with his sixth match point.

He will next play Germany's Florian Mayer (ATP 45).

Being an attacking player, it seems Roger always go for lines even during Break points unlike his top rivals who are defenders, play high % game during those moments and let the opponent make the mistake... Inability to convert numerous BPs cost him many important matches (probably titles) in his career... most recently his match against Stakovsky where he had many chances to go 2-0 sets up...
