Roger in semis

19.07.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger reached the semifinal of the German Open Tennis Championship in Hamburg with a 7-6(4), 3-6, 7-5 victory over Florian Mayer today.

It was hard work for Roger all the way, he won the tie-break of the first set had to drop the second. In the third set, he scored a break twice to take a lead but the German broke back at both occasions. Roger finally went on to close the match, holding serve after another break in the end after exactly 2 hours of play.

Roger will now play Argentina's qualifyer Federico Delbonis (ATP 114) in Saturday's semis.

Get the best specialists around to check your back. Maybe you a;ready are. Get a 2nd or 3rd or 4th opinion. You need to be at your best to handle Murray and Djokovic.

**RICKAZOR** more practice yes. but more than practice he needs a new back. did you not see his movement and the not bending to sit or bending as little as possible? his walking was terrible in the 3rd set. he did good to finish. he looked in pain.

Tough match, but well done. Hope it's all a bit easier tomorrow!

**GOGO2013** it wasn't just you. roger was walking really stiffly in the 3rd set highlights from tennistv.com. he did not look comfortable. we fans have watched him so much over the years, so many matches, in an instant we can tell when his movement is different. i hope the earlier match tomorrow will benefit his back. he is usually any event's big draw and plays last. sometimes that means a cold night. not good for his back. let's keep our fingers crossed he is good to go tomorrow.

Wasn't able to see match because of late start. Looked a tough one, but Mayer is a very dogged player and doesn't give up against anyone.Conditions not ideal by the looks of it. What's important is you're through to the SFs - pretty damn good when trialling a new racquet. All the best for your next match against Delbonis. I reckon you will sail through this one. Love you, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I just exaggerated my last comment... But she can compete with some of the men on tour and give them a tough fight. So no wonder she beat the women with such scoreline. Its ridiculous to see a clay expert like Errani get thrashed by her 6-1 6-0 at FO
