Roger in semis

19.07.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger reached the semifinal of the German Open Tennis Championship in Hamburg with a 7-6(4), 3-6, 7-5 victory over Florian Mayer today.

It was hard work for Roger all the way, he won the tie-break of the first set had to drop the second. In the third set, he scored a break twice to take a lead but the German broke back at both occasions. Roger finally went on to close the match, holding serve after another break in the end after exactly 2 hours of play.

Roger will now play Argentina's qualifyer Federico Delbonis (ATP 114) in Saturday's semis.

And I think the main reason for Roger here is to get used to the new racquet. Everything else is a bonus.

It seems Roger is having physical issues. Maybe his back. He had a long match yesterday. These players have all caught on to his weak side and are all trying to exploit this. So hoping he can get through this one.

I still am hoping for no disappointments. Roger is still there and fighting, this is no worse than last night. He can still do it, he will get better as he goes along!

OK. It is time for him to pack up the drop shot until he gets better acquainted with this new racquet.

Here we go again, one set down. At least it was close enough to go to a tie break.
Roger, come on, we said no roller coasters! Come on Rogi, next two sets peRFect!

My God! Roger has dropped the first set again. Even the commentator says Roger's backhands are not good enough to beat top players and also said Roger was nervous. Don't we know it .....
