Out in Hamburg

20.07.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Roger was defeated by Argentine qualifier Federico Delbonis 6-7(7), 6-7(4) in the semifinals in Hamburg today.

"He played well, he was a little more aggressive," Roger said.

Our champ took a 2-1 lead to start with, but was broken right back and had to save two set points to take the set into a tiebreaker. All looked good there as he took a 4-2 lead but did not manage to convert a set point before then dropping the set. Roger had to keep up the fight, defending break points right in his first service game. Eventually taking the set into another tiebreaker, Roger committed a series of errors before Delbonis wrapped up his win.

Next up for Roger is a trip home as he will play the tournament in Gstaad in the Swiss mountains next week.

Roger: All the luck in Gstaad, if you win you will loose only 30 points in the end from the 460 you loose from the olympics. Great determination today but in the clutch points Delbonis outplayed you and of course he played the greatest game of his life. August is coming up and you will ber turning 32, you always played well in the month of your bithday, you have twelve titles and a silver medal as well as memorable performance, make this august be the best ever and win 4000 points like in 2006

men tennis is really a physical game. Roger needs to work on physicality of it all and stop giving the ball to opponent and wait for him to make mistake, Roger, I love you but I think you still have a lot to give. You are the champion and everyone has learned your game . Please make the opponent run more but hitting the sidelines. Don't let them make you run. Still my number one and always will be

you for all of your career--shall continue to so for ever-I have absolute faith in you
Age shall not weary them [you]
We are all individuals AND no-one knows what a person can & will do in their lives with the ups/downs, turns/twists that we are/can be faced with.
Roger Federer is an extremely talented /intelligent person the likes that we have not seen on a tennis court before--who knows what he is still capable of doing?
I for one will sit back & watch his beautiful tennis.

to construct a point whilst establishing what you are able to do with your TRIAL magic wand would not be easy knowing that millions around the world are watching.
Roger your game is,and always has been, beautiful to watch, your shotmaking skills second to none, your speed is still up there with the best.Similar to Martina Hingis it is/was a joy to watch your instinctive play--changes to the nature of the game has prevented you from being so [instinctive].
Roger I have followed & supported
