Gstaad: the draw

22.07.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger is back at the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open in Gstaad.

After a first round bye and seeded as no. 1, Roger will try to repeat his 2004 victory in the Swiss mountains.

In his first match, Roger will meet the winner of the match between Daniel Brands and his friend Marco Chiudinelli. In the quarter final, he could play Spain's Bautista Agut before a meeting with Argentia's Juan Monaco is likely in the semis. In the final, a Swiss encounter with Stanislas Wawrinka could be possible.

contd. He seemed tired on court today. He lost in straight sets. He should return the cow. (LOLLLL) I hope there is a good reason for this performance.

Hi Fancy,

Roger struggled against Brands serve. He was moving slowly, unable to capitalise on break point opportunities. Roger was broken twice. I also noticed that he was grunting when he served so maybe is having back issues. To me he seemed tired

I'm just in and expected you Roger to have won easily, I really don't understand but then I didn't see the match. I'm sure many here will fill me in in due course.

It looks like it's time to say good-bye. What a great career you have had. Please don't go out like Hewitt!

What shall we say to these things Out in Gstaad. The match was over before it began. Was it the racket? Was it physical issues? Was it mental? Is it balancing of the highs and the lows? Will the highs return? Will the lows get lower? Is it extraordinary becoming ordinary? Can this happen so quickly with one so talented? I pray there will be an answer. I hope there will be a change. I will wait.
