Roger defeats Haas

15.08.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has booked a spot in the quarter-finals in Cincinnati with a 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory over Germany's Tommy Haas.

It was a tough fight for Roger in the beginning as he only managed to find his game trailing 1-6, 2-4, to the delight of the spectators. Next up is either Rafael Nadal or Grigor Dimitrov. And then it would be a further, tough path with Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic as possible opponents for the semis and then the final.

SABRI001 The word "retirement" is a no no here unless it refers to the other guys.

Actually, Roger had two challenges left.

we cannot expect from you to play like 5 years ago, but you must think about the future, ranking is dropping roger while you are playing, rafa was out for 7 months, obvious that his ranking dropped.

in my opion the best moment for you to have announced your retirement was when you won wimbledon last years with the whole family their. that was the best moment, this will never happen again but i really hope i am wrong

You fought so hard and to the last! I am so proud of you dear Champ! Today I could see you're so upbeat and full of confidence. I could see you were so upset and devastated at the end that you could not wait for your opponent to leave together. I think Rafa was also feeling your pain and he clapped to show his respect when you were leaving. You could not have lost to a better opponent. I could see so many positives from your play today that I feel very confident about your chances in US open.

Roger is looking perfect!!!! Lets wait what the Drugs King will be doing at Federer's age !!!!!!! Lets wait and see.........
Nadal's way of playing is very effective ......... But absolutely ugly !!!!!
Fed is a great master ..... Something that we could never say about the Drugs King.

Maybe Roger had run out of challenges?

Ha misterkay: Great minds think alike.
I truly believe Roger does not care any more.

Why did he not challenge Rafa's final shot? I could see that it was close from
my living room?
That is the final insult to injury. A true fighter would have challenged the call.
