Not an easy draw

23.08.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 2

The draw for the US Open is out: Roger's first-round opponent is Slovenia's Grega Zemlja (ATP 61). His path from there is rather steep - he could already play Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals. The Spaniard is the favourite for the title in Flushing Meadows after the double in Montreal/Cincinnati.

A meeting with Sam Querrey (ATP 29) is possible in the round of the last 16 before Roger could play Kei Nishikori (ATP 12) in the quarters.

After his five titles from 2004-2008 in New York, Roger is now aiming at his 18th Grand Slam title.

Dear dear Roger, the best of luck tomorrow. And don't look too far ahead. Take one step at the time. Be confident, fearless and patient. And don't give us rollercoaster matches :-)

I will support you at all times. And I'm looking forward to see you shine in your new outfit. Really loving the orange/red shoes!!

Hi Roger all the very best for the US Open and sincerely hope you do really well am sure you can and will! With you all the way and it was great that you gave Rafa such a close match recently. Its also good news that you are sticking with your trusty racquet rather than the temptation to go for the large one!

best wishes to you and your family

Mike

Every draw is a difficult one. We cannot say who is going to meet who in the quarter finals. Any one or all of the top names may be knocked out or have to retire before then. We can only hope that Rogers back trouble stays away and he remains healthly and strong to get that far and beyond. I do believe that providing he remains fit and healthy Roger is back on track and on his way up again. He was so close in beating Rafa a weeks ago and Rafa was been made to play his full game. Allez Roger!

My dearest Fed,
You said that you will give it your all to do well at the US-Open-2013. That’s fine. But most important thing is that you should believe that you can win against any opposition. As you know, you can win tournaments only if you have humility, patience, courage and self belief. Cont. in next message.

Cont:- Do your homework well and prepare good strategies to win matches. May God give you strength, skill and all things needed to the fullest to achieve victory. May you raise aloft the US open-2013 trophy. All the best to you.
Yours lovingly,
RS
