Roger with a good start

28.08.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger won his first round at the US Open against Grega Zemlja (ATP 62) 6-3, 6-2 and 7-5.

Roger was in very good shape, winning the match in 1 hour 33 minutes. The stats for his first round are certainly impressive: 85% of points won on his first serve, 12 aces, backed up by 35 clean winners, the last of them a forehand volley to wrap it up.

The two players split the first six games to begin the match, before Roger won three in a row to take the first set, 6-3. He continued that success in the second set, winning 6-2 before taking the match with a 7-5 victory in the third set.

Roger will now play Argentina's Carlos Berlocq (ATP 48).

@KEMNA
In my opinion Roger has the best team he can get right now. He won 17 GS titles with the team and won Wimbledon for the 7th time last year and broke the record for No. of weeks as No. 1. I think that as long as he can play without any issues on his health or back he is the best there is.
Mats Wilander pointed out yesterday that Novak is currently lacking confidence, so in that case it seems logical to add a member to your team to try to improve that.

Roger is fine right now.

A good match Rog, you were looking pretty sharp, especially serving and volleying. Winners to unforced errors very impressive also. Very much looking forward to your match against Berlocq - all the best for that one too.

Love your outfit BTW; nice contrast with the shoes - cool. Love you gorgeous man, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi DUTCHLADY,

Thanks for letting us know that his team and he decided to practise after every match on the things he wanted to work out during the match.
What a great solution. Now of course, you will see others will do the same thing,
but oke.

I heard that Novak has added someone to his team for tactical purpose.
Maybe something Roger should also do???

And you are right, this all shows me Roger is not at the USO to go deep, he is at the USO to win USO 2013 !!!

continued..
To me all signs (as if I needed them :-)) that you are dead serious about what you are doing and what you want to achieve. Very promising, I must say.

Hoping to see the results of all that effort in many matches to come and wishing you all the very best for the next one.
