Roger races into round 3

29.08.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger booked his spot in round three at the US Open with a clear 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Carlos Berlocq today.

It took Roger just 95 minutes to wrap up the win against the 30 year old Argentinian. Our champ will now play either France's Adrian Mannarino (ATP 63) or Sam Querrey of the USA (ATP 31).

Dear Rogerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,

Don't be excited when you win over low ranked players. You will know how well you are playing only when you are put to test by top 10 players. Believe me, you need to stick to your serve with confidence. Losing power & making unforced errors will be disasterous in the quarter finals up to the final. Therefore, you better play point by point and don't get into silly rallies, please. Don't waste your energy, PLEASE !!! Keep the razor sharp serve going!!!

Roger volleys so beautifully and so natural when he hits one - I am quite disgruntled with McEnroe's assessment that Nadal is a better volleyer than Roger. McEnroe is blind? He doesn't see it and makes idiotic comments about Federer's style of play. Roger is so beautiful to watch . . .

if you want to beat nadal you have to play like that, agressive and on point, but you need two more things:

1. unforced errors (keep them down)

2. DO NOT try to hit everything with yoru forehand... against nadal, specially a lefty, you will be open the entire court ang give him free points....

have a Little more confidence on your backhand and you´ll be fine...

A master class for your opponent and a good training night for you.
At first I wasn't very impressed with your outfit, but at the end of the match, I loved it!
Always your fan!

Congratulations, our Champ. Yes, u need good sleep and relax. Beat Robredo into QF, u have then no point to lose. If u eliminate RN, whoever will be the opponent in SF, he will pose u no threat. One match at a time, see U in F, good luck.
