Roger races into round 3

29.08.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger booked his spot in round three at the US Open with a clear 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Carlos Berlocq today.

It took Roger just 95 minutes to wrap up the win against the 30 year old Argentinian. Our champ will now play either France's Adrian Mannarino (ATP 63) or Sam Querrey of the USA (ATP 31).

Like you Lleyton relishes playing on AA court at the US open--exciting to watch him play so well--brought back memories of the many past great matches between you two.

I agree with you ,re the broadcasting and replays of Fox 3 has so far been more than disappointing. The commentating appalling except for Taylor Dent who is lucky if he gets one word in now and then as the other guy simply will not 'shut up" with his verbal diarrhoea

Kind Regards
Margaret

RAMCHARAN,
the 2 very important factors that influence the scheduling are.

1. The crowd favorite always plays in the evening when the stadium is full.
2. As a respect to the higher ranked players, they get a comfortable schedule than the lower seeds (a comfortable schedule means the one that is not affected by rain)

So even if Roger is seeded 20 or 30 (which will never happen), he will be playing under the lights in Arthur Ashe.

So we really cannot say it is UNFAIR scheduling.

Hello Roger
What a great match from you, some wonderful powerful strokes--forecourt play superb and then there was " Mr drop shot" at his best. You are serving and moving well--as always loved your tennis.

We have just finished watching the 4 hour 5 setter where our Lleyton Hewitt defeated Del Potro--he ,Lleyton having had so many surgeries to his hips, feet and toes played superbly--he has NOT lost any of his fighting spirit-he fought like a lion just does not give up as you well know!

A weather forecast predicts rain from Saturday to Monday/Tuesday:
Saturday 12 pm to 9 pm: 80% to 90% chance of thundershowers
Saturday 9 pm to 12 am: 40% chance of thundershowers (if no rain, then Wozniacki better not hold up Roger’s match)
Sunday 12 pm to 12 am: 70% to 90% chance of thundershowers
Monday 12 am to 6 pm: 70% 90% chance of thundershowers
Monday 6 pm to 12am: 40% 60% chance of thundershowers

In case of rain delay: Roger vs AdrianMannarino, 2011 Paris R2, full match

Roger/Annacone should make the effort to practice on Saturday morning, before the rain starts.

He will probably need indoor practice courts for the next few days.

I agree... I don't support Novak's father but he's much better than Toni Nadal... BTW Novak's path got little easier with DelPo being out...
