A really solid first week

01.09.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger enjoyed a confident 6-3, 6-0, 6-2 win over Adrian Mannarino (ATP 63) in the third round to round off a great first week at the US Open.

Roger faced just a single break point in the entire match against the Frenchman and was obviously very pleased with his performance after 81 minutes of play. "There's always a lot of pressure coming out here on this court to perform, because you never know if you're going to play well. Tonight was one of those nights."

Roger will now play the round of the last sixteen against Tommy Robredo (ATP 22). Our champ leads the head-to-head 10-0 and could then be in for a quarter-final against Rafael Nadal in the quarter

Roger, since last year french open , yr physical, fitness & stamina level have drop signicantly.. As a professional sportman, u should know this..at 1st day of US open 1st round win, u did mentioned whether u actually like to go to court to practise, so be true about yourself whether you already enouggh for Tennis.. from 1st to 3rd round, I saw u level of play have drop significantly, you are much more slower, tire, breathing hard & sweat a lot..

I enjoyed watching you Roger for the rounds you played. Not sad you lost this one. Organizers planned for an epic on Wednesday. Good for them. You are the best. A clean sportsman. Love you and we all know it is not over until God says so. Rest up now and I will wait for your next tournament. Blessings to you, your family and team. Much love.

Roger: Unfortuanately you lost because you made a lot of unforced errors, it is sad to have to say this but you have to switch raquets right now. An option would be to add beijing to your schedule to add some practice time with your racquet. Another option is bangkok and Beijing to have even more practice time, if you gain many points by the end of the year it should not be a problem because you wont have much to defend in the first eight months of the season besides AO, Rome and halle.
