Next chance for title no. 80

17.08.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger breezed past Milos Raonic in just 69 minutes, defeating him 6-2, 6-3 to book his spot in the final in Cincinnati where he will now meet David Ferrer.

"I'm playing much better than last year. I can move freely again, Roger said. "I'm happy the results show. It's more fun playing this way. Now I am playing the right away."

Roger made a clear statement, breaking Raonic in his first serice game and neatly securing the first set. In the second set, Roger broke serve to take a 4-3 lead and made everything clear with one last break to seal the win after 69 minutes.

Today's final is Roger's eighth one this year and his fourth in series. He will play David Ferrer (ATP 6) at 4 p.m. local time for his 80th tournament victory and sixth title in Cincinnati (after 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012). Roger has won all 15 encounters with Ferrer so far.
