Out against Robredo

03.09.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger lost 6-7(3), 3-6, 4-6 to Tommy Robredo of Spain on Monday night in round four of the US Open.

"I kind of self-destructed, which is very disappointing, especially on a quicker court. Your serve helps you out. You're going to make the difference somewhere. I just couldn't do it. It was a frustrating performance," Roger said. He had enough opportunities to find his way into the match. Roger level to 2-2 after trailing 0-2 in the opening set. And he did so once again as Robredo broke his serve to 4-5, then matching the break and taking the score to 5-5 and finally taking the set into a tie-breaker. But over the two hours and 24 minutes of play, our champ accumulated 43 unforced errors and managed to convert only these 2 of 16 break points.

Next up for Roger is the Shanghai Rolex Masters in October.

Those commenters on the guestbook have to be seriously brain-damaged. Roger is easily the hardest player on tour to dislike or say something bad about!

Anyway, I seriously doubt he'll read any of that garbage. I suggest we just push those messages behind with positive messages (without giving any publicity to the nasty messages).

As a side note, I do wonder if Roger managers his own Facebook and Twitter accounts. Hard to tell with the conciseness and neatness of the posts!

good luck to our maestro.
I hope the world gets to know the real truth about doping. It is so insane. And he gets away with it with his uncle. How can this be so bad?

I guess he got a good draw to prove he is still in the fight for titles. A win against Djokovic being more likely than against Nadal.

I think Rogers draw is okay up until the final of course...just want to see him play.

I'm conscious that Roger does a lot of off court events for his sponsors...as much as i like seeing him i really want him to play wicked and win some finals.

In theory it would be ideal to prevent publication, but the Guestbook and the rest of the website is open 24/7 and the moderators need their sleep too!
