Out against Robredo

03.09.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger lost 6-7(3), 3-6, 4-6 to Tommy Robredo of Spain on Monday night in round four of the US Open.

"I kind of self-destructed, which is very disappointing, especially on a quicker court. Your serve helps you out. You're going to make the difference somewhere. I just couldn't do it. It was a frustrating performance," Roger said. He had enough opportunities to find his way into the match. Roger level to 2-2 after trailing 0-2 in the opening set. And he did so once again as Robredo broke his serve to 4-5, then matching the break and taking the score to 5-5 and finally taking the set into a tie-breaker. But over the two hours and 24 minutes of play, our champ accumulated 43 unforced errors and managed to convert only these 2 of 16 break points.

Next up for Roger is the Shanghai Rolex Masters in October.

I'm feeling so sick of what I just read - Nadal is now No. 1. You used to be so way above all these players. I also read that even Djokovic beats Nadal, he's still No. 1, it's sickening! He must be on heavy steroids. No one can come back what Nadal did. When you came back from your illness, it was a slow progress and reclaimed your position at No. 1. I really question Nadal's truthfulness about his knee drama! It is deceitful . . .

Champ, i'm wishing you all the best in shanghai. I'm feeling very confident that you can reach the finals!!! I think your draw is pretty favorable, the only tricky opponent imo is Nole, but I think you can get the victory. I can hardly wait to see you lift the trophy!! Hugs and Kisses :)

Note: The site calculates points after every completed match. It doesn't wait for a new Monday to publish ratings.

Also, because of Murray's absence, rank 9 should be the cut off spot for London. So Raonic and Tsonga are the guys to watch out for.
Delpo winning against Roanic in Tokyo will help a little.
