Out against Robredo

03.09.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger lost 6-7(3), 3-6, 4-6 to Tommy Robredo of Spain on Monday night in round four of the US Open.

"I kind of self-destructed, which is very disappointing, especially on a quicker court. Your serve helps you out. You're going to make the difference somewhere. I just couldn't do it. It was a frustrating performance," Roger said. He had enough opportunities to find his way into the match. Roger level to 2-2 after trailing 0-2 in the opening set. And he did so once again as Robredo broke his serve to 4-5, then matching the break and taking the score to 5-5 and finally taking the set into a tie-breaker. But over the two hours and 24 minutes of play, our champ accumulated 43 unforced errors and managed to convert only these 2 of 16 break points.

Next up for Roger is the Shanghai Rolex Masters in October.

Dear kemna,
Rightly said about Nadal & you have spoken my thoughts about our IDOL.
Eagerly waiting for it to happen.
For your information INDIA is having maximum number of RF fans even more than SWITZERLAND. Simple example-just count how many overwhelming number of Indians make comment here & there are many more outside this forum. You can rest assured even in this Rafamania our IDOL has not lost his popularity a bit here in INDIA...

To be honest, I think he thought "I already got world number one, I am going to save myself for Shanghai, a 1000 title instead of going all out on a 500 title".

And if it is not that, then he has to be getting tired right?
I mean, even HE cannot keep this up.
What comes up... must come down too.
That is why I think Rafa will do bad from now on and Roger will do good.

Dear Vishakha,
Please let me know which channel is showing Sanghai live in India.
Guys have you seen how many unforced errors Nadal made in yesterday's match?
Was it for his tiredness , declining starting or for fast surface reappeared?
