Federer and Annacone End |Coaching Relationship

12.10.2013 | Off Court, Starseite 3

After a terrific 3 ½ years working together, Paul and I have decided to move on to the next chapter in our professional lives. When we started together we had a vision of a 3 year plan to win another Grand Slam title and get back to the number #1 ranking. Along with many other goals and great memories, these 2 main goals were achieved. After numerous conversations culminating at the end of our most recent training block, we felt like this was the best time and path for both of us. Paul remains a dear friend, and we both look forward to continuing our friendship. I want to thank Paul for his help and the value he has added to me and my team.

but i have to agree with you. It's difficult for Roger to have a coach at this point,i believe he will be on his own,at least for a while. But my belief is, that a coach is important to an athlete, even at this point ,because each athlete needs someone to put boundaries to his actions, which are sometimes too spontaneous and sentimental.

YUKI,Navratilova?hmmmmmm.that's a great idea.If you have your doubts, though,(arent' we all?)only a woman can't take no for an answer. If Roger wants a coach that will coach him and not the other way around,a woman is the right choice!!!!!!!!!He won't dare to contradict, lol!!!!!!!!!

thoughts:
Roger is planning his ranking to strategically placed in GS. With Anacone in the picture, it would look bad for both when his ranking is not in the top ten. The advantage that Fed would have over Nadal in a Wimbledon is earlier when the grass surface is still fast. Maybe in the third or fourth round, it would be a very good match for Roger, and he still can recovers to reach further into the GS. He also needs to let his talent flows and not forcing the errors by doing too much.

SHIV08SPYDER.. I agree with you. They should change all the names to Roger's !!!

No more ATP, but RF?.... nice name huh for the ATP??? Just kidding.

But I am serious about the award. Ever since they are giving it (I think??) Roger has won it. Even in years he has been less dominant.
So... The Roger Federer Fan Favourite Award. Would be nice to name it like that and that after his retirement that Rafa (especially for Uncle Toni) or Andy or Novak (especially for his dad) would win it !!!

Dear Roger I think it is a good decision to split with your coach for both of you as your combination was not working Regardless of the rankings you slipped to and the number of matches you lost your backhand has become weak and vulnerable your forehand faulty and your serve unreliable Though the coach can't be blamed for everything it is better to seek change at this moment Good luck for both of you

Kemna - good idea except when they read out the winner, say it's Roger again.... 'And the winner of the Roger Federer Fan's Favourite award is..........Roger Federer!'

Have you seen on the ATP website, that 'Fedex Reliability'. That should definitely be named after Federer as he is the most consistent and reliable player of all time. That's what I think everytime I read it.
