Federer and Annacone End |Coaching Relationship

12.10.2013 | Off Court, Starseite 3

After a terrific 3 ½ years working together, Paul and I have decided to move on to the next chapter in our professional lives. When we started together we had a vision of a 3 year plan to win another Grand Slam title and get back to the number #1 ranking. Along with many other goals and great memories, these 2 main goals were achieved. After numerous conversations culminating at the end of our most recent training block, we felt like this was the best time and path for both of us. Paul remains a dear friend, and we both look forward to continuing our friendship. I want to thank Paul for his help and the value he has added to me and my team.

Fancyfree, I really enjoyed the article you posted one page back and I must say that this line at the end of the article really sums things up.

Coach or no coach, tennis outcomes will still come down to Roger Federer.

Truer words have not been written.

1. If he send in the movement, younger players who run a lot better than he can, they put him to run. And that he wants to escape. Have you seen that he no longer runs after almost any stop?. When he lost to Nadal at Roland Raros he opened too much angle and Nadal with the , with the nose in the ground, passing him the phenomenal: when on the right side when on the left.. Then he said he has found the solution to beat Nadal. No more playing in angles but hard in midfield. It was better but s

YUKI,hello to you too.regardless of our love for Roger,if we admit the fact that he is a difficult character to deal with(he is mature enough to have certain thesis that are difficult to change anymore),do you think it will be easy for any coach to cooperate with him?Who do you think is suitable for that job and how possible is,that there would be many that would want to seat in this electric chair?

Don't worry. I think Paul is a nice guy, and will not tell to anyone how to beat Roger.

Hey guys,

I do hope that now Annacone is no longer with Roger, that there will be no run for Paul !!! You know, that other players want him as a coach right now, because he not only coached the Goat for 3 years, but also got him Wimby and world number one. Hope Paul will not "sell" his secrets to another player on how to "beat" Roger !!! Another player could easily hire Paul now and find out the "dirt" on Roger's weaknesses, his flaws and how to beat him...

Maybe the word you're looking for is "example" as in Roger's game is a better example on how tennis should be played. His style of play is inimitable because he is the only one who plays like that. Unlike current top power hitters that most play the same style of game therefore easier to copy.
