Roger vs. del Potro

26.10.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger booked the second spot in tomorrow's final of the Swiss Indoors by beating Vasek

Pospisil 6-3, 6-7(3), 7-5 today.

It was a tight match and Roger already had the chance to wrap it all up serving for the match at 5-3 in the second set. After losing the tie-break, he fell back 1-3 in the third set before battling back and scoring another break to secure his spot in the final, to the delight of his fans in his hometown Basel.

Roger will play Juan Martin del Potro (ATP 5) in tomorrow's final - our champ can qualify for the World Tour Finals by winning just this one more match.

Let's ignore the negativity. Only an idiot would find something wrong with today's match.
Roger even looked the better player for most of the match (3 breaks of serve to 2 by DelPo). It was only a few moments here and there that decided it.
That 2nd set performance was simply brilliant!

sorry to say but Federer has the he same problems beating the top hard hitters
in the ATP .....

The points distribution sums it up: 96 points to Roger and 96 points to Juan Martin. There wasn't much to choose at all! High quality play by both.

Roger looked a new player today and played new patterns. Things are looking up for us! Go Maestro!! Allez!

ALI_1 As The Italians would say "a casa" And as Roger has said he intends to play a while yet. Who do you think you are to assume you know better that Roger.

I was 1 of the guys who were thinking Roger wd lose v badly today but Roger, under given circumstances really played well. Both hv won equal pts (96 each), Roger has won 1 break pt more......unf 3rd set he cd not hold......
Roger has a v tough draw in Paris starting from 1st match.......I dont think it is impt 2 qualify for London, more impt if he is prepared for that event....he wd be facing Nadal or Djoker, 1st match if he qualifies.......

I echo what DNB8769 said. You should not qualify to London because you will be embarrassed by the top players. Everybody saw how del poto performs in fron of Djokovic,so you can imagine what Djokovic will do to Federer. Not to mention the lousy Berdych who always fall on his face when playing against the top 2 players but has been beating Federer lately. So better to sit at home and spend quality time with your family, look for a toung talented player and think about coaching him.ur time is over
