Roger qualifies for Masters

30.10.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals twelve times in series thanks to a 6-4, 6-4 victory over South Africa's Kevin Anderson in Paris-Bercy today.

Right from the start, Roger showed that he wanted to dictate play. He broke Anderson straight away, taking a 1-0 lead which he held for the remainder of the opening set. He secured another break early in the second set but battled at 5-2 when he had to drop his own serve. At 5-4 Roger fought off break-points before he made the victory and his participation in London clear after 82 minutes of play.

Roger is the sixth player after Nadal, Djokovic, Ferrer, Del Potro and Berdych to have qualified for the World Tour Finals. In the past eleven years that he participated, he won the tournament six times.

Roger will play Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber on Thursday in Paris-Bercy.

Tweet from tennis TV page: "Federer breaks to take control of set two. He can almost hear the 'ding ding' of the big red London bus now".
At the end was a little bit exciting, but I knew he makes it. More solid and agressive play must vs Kohlschreiber.
Else: What will we do in December without HIM???

What a joy to listen to this great man especially as he was one of the very first
tennis players that I watched as a very young girl. I think that he inspired me to play and thus love the game.
When one considers the many players that he could have asked to write the forward to his book he chose Roger Federer and what an excellent one it is too--thank you. Fortunately a friend sent me a signed copy [of the book]
For those of us who love the sport and history of tennis I cannot wait

Hello Roger
What a wonderful win thus enabling you to qualify for the 2013 WTFs.
Heartiest congratulations. Even though I thought that you would do so, one never can be too sure with sport.
Pleasing to see that your 1st serve has returned to accompany your beautiful magical tennis--moving very well and some of your shots are to die for..Pat Rafter is right when he once said that you create them as you go along.Keep it up!
