Roger qualifies for Masters

30.10.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals twelve times in series thanks to a 6-4, 6-4 victory over South Africa's Kevin Anderson in Paris-Bercy today.

Right from the start, Roger showed that he wanted to dictate play. He broke Anderson straight away, taking a 1-0 lead which he held for the remainder of the opening set. He secured another break early in the second set but battled at 5-2 when he had to drop his own serve. At 5-4 Roger fought off break-points before he made the victory and his participation in London clear after 82 minutes of play.

Roger is the sixth player after Nadal, Djokovic, Ferrer, Del Potro and Berdych to have qualified for the World Tour Finals. In the past eleven years that he participated, he won the tournament six times.

Roger will play Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber on Thursday in Paris-Bercy.

So I see and well on his way to losing the second set. It had to happen after what I said. Still a good match though. Not surprising really, it was a close match last week. It was close between Roger and both of them, and with a bit more luck Roger would have beaten Delpo.
