Quarters in Paris-Bercy

31.10.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has booked a spot in the quarters in Paris-Bercy thanks to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Philipp Kohlschreiber (ATP 23).

"I'm happy with the way things went today from start to finish," Roger said. "I was able to play a consistent match, and I closed out nicely."

Roger was very efficient in the opening set, converting the only break-point and holding the lead to take the set. In the second set, he broke again to take a 5-4 lead and then serve for the match, wrapping everything up after 63 minutes of play.

Roger will face Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro tomorrow in a rematch of the Swiss Indoors Basel final.

You are playing with great form and consistent, in full fluidity, which is stunning to watch. Good luck in your quarter-finals match with Del Potro. You seem to have karma with him lately.

Always with you.

Hello Roger
We enjoyed this match very much--2 single handed backhands always a joy to watch especially Richard Gasquet.
76% 1st serves won--wonderful to see.
Your tennis never ceases to amaze me --win or lose ,we the spectators, can be guaranteed high quality shots --always more than amazing I should add.S&V everything appears so natural not only with tennis but as a person. The 'hot shot' 5th game 2nd set, where did you find that? Would have made Pat Rafter feel proud!

Just wanted to add how happy I am for Stan that he made it to the WTF as well. A really special achievement for a small country like Switzerland to have two players in the singles at the WTF where the USA have none (besides the Bryans in doubles). Great success for Swiss tennis and both of you in particular. I guess that your success and example over the years must have been a great example to Stan.
Congratulations once again to both you and Stan!

Hello Roger,

Good to see you keeping that winning streak against Philipp, who made you work hard for it in that first half of the match. Two beautiful single handed backhands as always a joy to watch.
So today there is that rematch from last Sunday and a chance to get your revenge (even though you don't think in terms of revenge, as you have said in interviews). Wishing you all the very best of luck and success against Del Potro,

Joke

That's an interesting fact NINJAFED.
It proves what I have said. Roger belongs there! That must be some sort of record in itself. I am looking forward to today's match against Delpo. I am not nervous, I feel it in my bones that he will win this one. As for Stan, here is hoping number 3 is his lucky number, and he will beat Djoko this time. Maybe now he has qualified for London it has given him extra belief that he can do it. Come on Roger, go and beat Delpo, it is your turn to win!
