Roger defeated after fight

05.11.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

After a tough battle at the ATP World Tour Finals today, Roger was defeated 4-6, 7-6(2), 2-6 by Novak Djokovic in his first match in Group B.

Roger was not able to convert two break points towards the end of the first set and later dropped his serve as Djokovic grew in confidence. The second set was a true battle, Roger came from 40-0 down to break his opponent and gain a 3-2 lead. But with three more breaks in the following games the players eventually fought their way into a tie-breaker - which Roger clearly won. The decider was then in the hands of Djokovic who wrapped up the match after 2 hours 22 minutes.

Don't assume that GOODMANIA. As I said prior it probably is for safety reasons. The balls last night were flying!

An additional piece of information from last night. Roger didn't practise alas on the practice courts as scheduled but on the actual centre court. Wise guy eh but it meant I missed out. Just like The Olympics last year where Roger practised away from the public and I missed out there too!! lol

Possibly crowd safety. There were a few shots that landed in the audience!

SavorItWhileItLasts:

Hardcourts have some sand, and by increasing the content of sand, you can slow down the hardcourt.

I have no idea why they are slowing it so much....
