Roger defeated after fight

05.11.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

After a tough battle at the ATP World Tour Finals today, Roger was defeated 4-6, 7-6(2), 2-6 by Novak Djokovic in his first match in Group B.

Roger was not able to convert two break points towards the end of the first set and later dropped his serve as Djokovic grew in confidence. The second set was a true battle, Roger came from 40-0 down to break his opponent and gain a 3-2 lead. But with three more breaks in the following games the players eventually fought their way into a tie-breaker - which Roger clearly won. The decider was then in the hands of Djokovic who wrapped up the match after 2 hours 22 minutes.

I take your point Shear but let's not get overly concerned. You cannot predict the winner of a tennis tournament, especially at this stage. Novak will probably win the final anyway. Unless Roger is his opponent of course! X

stan is playing good, but a little to much to nadals backhand. he must mixed things up, make nadal guess, the only thing nadal is doing right now is to stay in the rally so that stan makes the mistake

I would say it was rigged for Nadal by slower condition of the court for a long time. Can you believe of that ball picking up. He would have missed if the court was a bit faster.

Of course I could be wrong. ...I wish Roger blow them away but gut feeling is its Nadals'

Lack of self belief is the only reason Stan lost first set.
