Roger defeated by Nadal

10.11.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger's quest for the title at the 2013 ATP World Tour Finals was stopped with a 5-7, 3-6 defeat by Rafael Nadal in the semis today.

The start of the match was very tight and chances looked good for Roger as he had break points on three occasions but unfortunately never managed to go all the way. It was Nadal who then did manage to break Roger's serve to take a 5-4 lead. But as Nadal was serving for the set, Roger battled back and scored a break himself - only for the Spaniard to do so as well on Roger's serve and then serve for the set successfully. In the second set, Roger was broken to fall behind 2-3 and committing too many errors - 32 in total - he was unable to fight back.

Maybe you are right & I am wrong since I only watch toward the end of the match where Novak is leading 4-3..that time is very boring..at the begining of the match I did not watch becoz is not Roger playing..

Nadal defeated by Djokovic. The trophy of World Tour Finals goes to Novak Djokovic. Well done Novak.

Schaochia - the final was entertaining, Djokovic plays the perfect game to beat Nadal, and still came to net, about 15 times, and won 70%+ of those points. His backhand is aggressive, deadly on return and he can make Nadal's forehand look weak at times. Plus his forehand is solid so Nadal can't get cheap points there either. That's the game style that Federer cannot adopt with his single-hander. So yes not the style we are used to seeing but still needs praise. It was great offence last night.

It is always funny to observe how Roger looks graceful in basically every photo that you see from him in any website. Even when he roars!
But all the others seem to suffer during the game, as tough they don't enjoy themselves out there, but they only desperately want to win. And off course Nadal's pictures are absolutely horrible to watch.

Roger definitely loves what he does!

Guys, to be honest today final between Nadal & Djokovic is bit boring & lack of interesting play as usual always baseline long rally...Roger match against Nadal is much more fun to watch where he play more on single handed backhand & , slice & come to the net to play volley..

Dear Rogerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,

Just here to remind you: Practise, practise & practise. Can you compete with Djokovic & Nadal (You must have seen them play the final. You can learn something about them). They are younger than you and much more powerful. So, you have to play effective disguise shots against them and avoid unnecessary rallies. They both attack with power, using both hands!

I think your level of play was super, its just there are more than your usual unforced errors. I am not sure if this is due to fatigue, as at times your level of play is super and you make a break, then you're broken right away in the following game. I think the main issue is fatigue making you a touch slower, and hence your timing is off. If you're able to maintain the high level of play all the way, you'll beat them all. Always a pleasure to watch though.

This was a good ending for year 2013 and also a great move for year 2014 and as long as you stay healthy, nobody will beat you. Think about Dykovic and Nadal, both of them are single and will reach to the age of wear and tear and this is a big revolution to you for the next few year. Nadal is a cheater and will never be satisfied with his game because he lost to Nadal at Barclay, England. What happen to his knee? This is joke, he came back to start winning in clay to his advantage.God Luck.
