Roger defeated in final

05.01.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger was defeated by Llyeton Hewitt in the Brisbane final 1-6, 6-4, 3-6.

"I didn't play great today which is a bit unfortunate. But also Lleyton was the best player I played this week. He made it toughest on me. So I have a clear idea what I need to work on, and I have a clear idea where my mind and body is at. I'm very hungry and eager to attack the Australian Open next week," Roger said. The Open starts on January 13th.

Roger committed a total of 22 unforced errors in the opening set and was broken three times. He fought back in the second set, securing it thanks to a break in in the ninth game. But our champ dropped his serve once again in the fourth game of the decider and unfortunately could not make use of his seven break points, eventually having to admit defeat after 2h 07.

Dear Roger,
Yes, it was unfortunate you weren't able to play the way you wanted to against Llyeton. I was concerned you may not be feeling great, seemed a bit out of sorts somehow. Of course, Llyeton is a tough player, as you well know; good for him to play such good tennis and earn another win on his home soil.

Anyway, glad you're taking good info out of the match & event. Look forward to your match with Jo, then the AO in the coming days. Good luck, as always!

OTHERWISE HE/SHE WILL SUCCEED IN MAKING THIS SITE WHAT HE HOPES IT WILL BECOME - A JOKE. AND THAT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE TO ROGER OR TO US.

PLEASE BEGIN THE PROCEDURE AND THIS TIME, I HOPE TO HAVEA PUBLIC ANSWER FROM YOU.

Although I am disappointed that Roger did not win the trophy and perhaps the way he played the final. I am not too disheartened. Roger is in the middle of getting up to date with his fitness and training and also new coach and racquet. I can reconcile the loss against Hewitt. He has beaten Roger before, I presume in Roger's prime. He is the same age and has been world no. 1. therefore he can play tennis. He is not in the same league as those who beat Roger last summer. The match was good for Rog

THIS IS ABOUT HEWITT:

I AM HARDLY HIS FAN BUT HE HAS NO FEAR - IN ONE DAVIS CUP MATCH? LONG, LONG AGO(BEFORE 2003? CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT? WHEN/WHERE?) , I REMEMBER THE ENTIRE STADIUM! WAS VICIOUSLY/VOCIFEROUSLY HOSTILE TOWARDS HIM BUT HE STILL WON THE MATCH.
HE WAS PLAYING SINGLES SO HE ENTIRELY ALONE ON THE COURT AND THE WHOLE STADIUM WAS CALLING FOR HIS BLOOD AND DISRUPTING THE MATCH ATMOSPHERE REPEATEDLY.

ROGER CONSIDERS HIM A FRIEND.
