Roger defeated in final

05.01.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger was defeated by Llyeton Hewitt in the Brisbane final 1-6, 6-4, 3-6.

"I didn't play great today which is a bit unfortunate. But also Lleyton was the best player I played this week. He made it toughest on me. So I have a clear idea what I need to work on, and I have a clear idea where my mind and body is at. I'm very hungry and eager to attack the Australian Open next week," Roger said. The Open starts on January 13th.

Roger committed a total of 22 unforced errors in the opening set and was broken three times. He fought back in the second set, securing it thanks to a break in in the ninth game. But our champ dropped his serve once again in the fourth game of the decider and unfortunately could not make use of his seven break points, eventually having to admit defeat after 2h 07.

Yes. Lets hope Roger gives his 100% and tries to dominate and finish each match as quick as possible. Trying to win 6-0,6-0,6-0 is best way to conserve energy.
And i hope he does NOT hesitate to engage in long rallies. He has to -- in the slower courts of Australia and the NEW racquet will HELP him.

And me -- i just play tennis as a pastime.
I think SHATIR is the one who takes his tennis seriously. I think i saw some posts some days ago about his participation in tournaments.

You are right. It was one way of thinking or may be giving consolation to myself, though I felt quite like as I stated but again you right every sport person has to be honest at their attempt. Lets hope Roger will try 100% at AO.
How are your Tennis going? Any tournament soon or later?

There is NO place for being kind, gifting free points and letting the opponent win in front of his home crowd IN ANY SPORT. It is equivalent to accepting a bribe to loose. There won't be any difference between scripted entertainment and sports.

Sports is all about trying to be competitive, greedy, dominate the opponent does NOT matter whom u play where u play..

Being calculative, conserving energy -- NEVER good.
Giving 100% each and every time is what we want from Roger.
