Australian Open: the draw

10.01.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

The coming Australian Open is Roger's 57th consecutive Grand Slam tournament. He will meet Australia's James Duckworth (ATP 134) in the opening round. He would then play the winner of the match between Radek Stepanek (ATP 45) and Blaz Kavcic (ATP 102).

Likely opponents after that are: Fernando Verdasco (round three), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (round of the last sixteen) or last year's finalist Andy Murray (quarters).
Rafael Nadal is in the same half of the draw as Roger - the two legends could meet in the semi-finals.

edit - Strange Fitzy, despite Roger having a big nose and over prominent chin which makes him look like Punch as in Punch and Judy on occasion, he is so handsome and he has that je ne said quoi about him, I'd be happy ..... lol

What you say is so true. I've noticed players are coming to the net a bit more than at the nadir (nadal?) of 2008-2010. Djokovic and his robotic game has finally made people more aware of how boring the 'serve and return' game can be. They didn't (don't) notice so much with Nadal because they respond (incomprehensibly to me) to his incredible aggression and the whole 'warrior' thing. (Ugh!

Yukimi: He was just trying to be funny. Trust me, his tone was far from combative. Stakhovsky earned his 15seconds under the spotlight.

ONLY JERKS TALK LIKE THAT - SO YOU WOULD ENDORSE SOMEONE BEING A JERK SHOUTING IT OUT IF/AFTER SOMEONE KICKED YOUR ARSE? AFTER ALL , HE'S JUST TRYING TO BE FUNNY - HOW SWEET and ADORABLE...

WAY TO USE HIS 15 SECONDS OF FAME...being disrespectful - so how SHOULD we teach our children to speak in public...or to their elders...or to their peers...or to YOU ??
