Roger in round three

16.01.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated Blaz Kavcic (ATP 99) 6-2, 6-1, 7-6(4) to reach the third round of the Australian Open.

For the first time in ten years, Roger had to play outside Rod Laver Arena. He got on court at Hisense Arena after the extreme heat policy was enforced earlier on Thursday. Our champ showed great tennis, scoring 11 aces and breaking Kavcic's serve six times to secure the win in under two hours.

He will now play either Fernando Verdasco (ATP 33) or Teimruas Gabaschwili (ATP 79).

Very interesting comment Jim Courier just made about Roger's racquet. He says that when he (Jim) has increased his racquet head size he had to go to a lighter racquet to get the same weight of shot.

Yes Shatir, he is looking more settled now. Early three games he was not looking overly happy. Yes. Got the break.

I think Roger looks quite okay! Good movement and solid on serve.
Gabashvili has a big forehand!

Our genius commentator thinks Edberg may have altered Roger's serve toss. What brilliant insight.

Lol, what an idiot. "Just say the typical, clichéd thing and my job is done."

Some of the coverage there isn't a commentator - Perfect!
