Roger defeated in the semis

24.01.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Roger's quest for the title at the 2014 Australian Open was stopped with a 6-7(4), 3-6, 3-6 loss against Rafael Nadal in the semis today.

The two players started with a tough opening set with only Nadal managing two break points which Roger fought off successfully. Nadal was the more efficient one in the tie-break, eventually winning the set after just under an hour of play. Roger had to drop his serve for the first time in the middle of the second set, falling 2-4 behind and later losing the set. An early break in set number three seemed to give Roger some momentum as he broke right back - but unfortunately only to drop his serve once again right afterwards. Nadal then held his serve and managed to break our champ a third time in the set to win the match and book a spot in Sunday's final against Roger's fellow countryman, Stanislas Wawrinka.

Calm down, you're losing your way. It's all right.

*what I meant, now the Davis Cup captain has no choice, but has to select the players out of those 4, if any player was to be changed, he had to be changed one hour before the draw. here's the draw ---

@fancyfree: Nopes, the cutoff time for changing upto 2 players is an hour before the draw --

So, now, Novak can't play & here is the full draw with match timings --

It is awesome that roger is playing, if they do not underestimate their rivals they have a great chance. The fact that they havent listed as Fedrinka for the doubles actually does not mean much, they can change it the day of the match, it depends on how tired they will be and if they win the first two rubbers. God thing you aare playing roger, it can add points to the ranking as well and get closer to Berdych buit to pass him you need more tournaments and perfection. Go back to # 1, U can do it

I do hope the Aussie champ is not carrying an injury!
I know, Roger is so very pleased for Stan, it is so lovely to see. I think Stan will be teased all week. I love the one photo. Roger clutching 2 racquets and talking to Stan. Roger looks so happy and enthusiastic, he could almost hear him saying to Stan, let's us go on court now, you can show me how you beat Rafa! Show me! He looks like an enthusiastic young boy!

You're welcome Modesti, but take care of your halitosis, sometimes is annoying.
