10th anniversary no. 1

02.02.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Today marks the 10th anniversary of Roger first becoming No. 1 in the Emirates ATP Rankings on 2 February 2004. The abiding memory is of Roger dropping to his knees and raising his arms in celebration. It was 9:30 p.m. in Melbourne, on 30 January 2004, and he had just beaten his rival for No. 1 in the Emirates ATP Rankings, Juan Carlos Ferrero, in the Australian Open semi-finals. The victory proved to be enough for Roger to become the world’s premier player for the first time. Roger confessed, “I wanted to enjoy this moment. You only get to be No. 1 once.”

Sorry I'm confused. You have managed to apply without your membership having come through?

Thank you for the link FANCY. If I have seen it before it is a long time a go. It will be amusing if they do such things again in April.
I am getting DC tickets via the Fans4Roger Club, who are doing block bookings in each seating category, having asked us who wants tickets and in what category. For each ticket they need to show a membership number for the Swiss Tennis Supporters Club, so without that membership I would still be hoping to be lucky on the 28th Feb!

So have you ordered the tickets through Swiss Tennis Fans or somewhere more lucrative?

Hi FANCY . Fognini is alright, saw him in Gstaad and he can play a nice game of tennis when on form. He could do well in the future. I seem to remember his serve was fun to photograph as I would get his tummy as well!
I now have tickets for DC at Geneva on order! Sooo happy!
Silver for the mens bobsleigh was excellent but their time was so ridiculously close to the winning pair, it was sad it was not a gold.

Not really interested in GB, CJ! I do like Fabio Fognini and southern Italy though! I shall have a wee look at fares.

I see Switzerland picked up a silver medal in the men's bobsleigh! Wow! X
