Roger defeats Djokovic

28.02.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger will play for a sixth title in Dubai tomorrow after a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Novak Djokovic. He will meet Tomas Berdych in the final.

After three defeats Roger was able to book another victory against Djokovic, now leading the head-to-head 17:15. Roger already dropped his serve in the second game of the opening set and was not able to come back after that. But in the second set, Roger managed his first break in the sixth game to later take the set. With two more breaks in the decider, Roger made everything clear in just under two hours of play.

Roger will play Tomas Berdych in Saturday's final, he leads the head-to-head 11-6. Our champ has won the tournament in Dubai 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2012.

What a game? Super game. Dyokovic didn't expect that you can throw a bomb to his court. He was so surprised. From the time he lost to Stan in Australia, he lost his concentration and timing. Good Luck. Stay healthy.

I've been dancing around on cloud nine all day. Wow Roger what a supreme effort in the semi. My alarm is already set for the wee hrs tomorrow morning even tho the big final is still 9.5 hrs away.
I can't wait to see you lift that magnificent trophy high above your head with tinsel showering down everywhere and the best of all your big beautiful winning smile. My smile will be matching...I think there might be some tears as well. You are so close dear champion. The very, very best.

So very true. You did not give up,or go on 7 month sabbatical leave or retire.
Many years ago I was taught to' never say never'. Here we are today watching you playing brilliant tennis moving wonderfully well pain FREE'.
I personally have always believed in you, many others also who must be very happy while non believers choking on their humble pies and Djokovic with no answers to your wizardry.
