Roger advances into semis

14.03.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger advanced into the semis in Indian Wells without any trouble, defeating Kevin Anderson (ATP 18) 7-5, 6-1.

Roger was fully in control once more, only having to defend a break-point once early in the match. Anderson's strong serve did not trouble our champ and he finally managed to break the South African in the last game of the opening set. With two more breaks in the second set, he wrapped up the match after 69 minutes.

"It was big to win the set and then to go on to break early in the second. Then double break was like a bonus. From then on I was home, basically. It was a really good match for me," Roger said.

Roger will now meet Alexandr Dolgopolov (ATP 31).

I can't believe he lost. How can you demolish Dolgopolov (a.k.a Nadal slayer) and lose to an ailing Djokovic?

What happened in the Final Set Roger?

@Fancyfree,

Actually that'll be a reasonably convenient time. Go in to work early and spend the first hour or so pretending to work. :P
But I really doubt it'll be that late at night in California. It'll make it harder for the organisers and support staff to get things wrapped up for the day.

I don't see the schedule for the finals*. If it's at 9 PM California time, it'll be 9:30 AM on MONDAY MORNING for us in India.

No 5. That sounds better, it is still wrong though. Roger is no.1 forever!
I hope we get Roger the steamroller again tomorrow. He is in great form at the moment.

Confidence is surging through Roger's veins at the moment, had he met Rafa, it would've been a complete annihilation. I hope they meet in Miami where Fed creams him 6-0 6-0.
