Roger defeated in final

17.03.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger was defeated 6-3, 3-6, 6-7(3) by Novak Djokovic in today's final in Indian Wells.

Roger started brilliantly, taking a 3-0 lead thanks to aggressive play and great serves, taking the first set. Unfortunately he couldn't continue on the exact same level in the second set, falling behind with an early break. In the decider, Djokovic was a break up again and serving for the set when Roger came back with a fantastic return game to  stay in the match. Later, in the tie-break, Roger was clearly defeated 3-7.

Good point, but maybe they could reschedule the tournament to the previous week. Ah that would clash with Queens ..... Maybe the week after the end of Wimbledon? mmm

I see that Stuttgart may change their's to a grass one. I don't know where that is in the year.

That seems a little half-hearted. The week preceding Wimbledon? Many of the big guys won't play that week (I know Roger won't).

OK. But I think the troll will be in hiding & waiting as Roger will get back to winning mode again. Do you know which channel will be showing Miami?

I had a heated argument with the troll in personal messages too.I think the troll has gone
And yes you are right about Roger's ranks

Assuming no exception if Roger & Ferrer are meeting in QF then it will be purely in Roger's hand to surpass Ferrer for securing the 4th spot in ranking. Then he can climb to no-3 if he wins Miami provided Wawrinka loses before final as Stan has clear 605 pts lead over our man.

Interesting interview PICKA, thank you. So glad he went through the problem with the aid of Doctors, Physios, Trainers etc, for an appropriate fix. As he was basically saying, the fix was not instant, he had to be patient, hope what they were doing was the correct method and look to the long term. Now it is a matter of confidence in his body and believing that is all behind him. So happy it turned out well for him, we do not want him in pain.
