Roger defeated in final

17.03.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger was defeated 6-3, 3-6, 6-7(3) by Novak Djokovic in today's final in Indian Wells.

Roger started brilliantly, taking a 3-0 lead thanks to aggressive play and great serves, taking the first set. Unfortunately he couldn't continue on the exact same level in the second set, falling behind with an early break. In the decider, Djokovic was a break up again and serving for the set when Roger came back with a fantastic return game to  stay in the match. Later, in the tie-break, Roger was clearly defeated 3-7.

Thanks for the link, I love the pic of him between Mickey & Minnie Mouse. So cute. I guess he really enjoyed it.

There should be a longer grass-court season. Maybe including a ATP 1000 tournament. There no other experience quite like watching Roger play on grass!
I was rewatching the 2012 Wimbledon final last night - still so thrilling!

I said Nadal beat Federer for the first time at Miami, but he didn't win the tournament that year (or any other year) - so MI5 is right. :)
Paris and Miami are the only two ATP 1000's that Nadal hasn't won.
Roger hasn't won Monte Carlo and Rome. (and he is skipping Monte Carlo again this year)
Cincinnati is the only ATP 1000 that Djokovic hasn't won.

Nice consistent play so far this year. The loss to Rafa in Australia and Novak yesterday hinged on poor tiebreaker play, particularly the first serve not being there when needed. I'd take a little velocity off of the first serve so as to not give elite players like those secind serves to tee off on. Additionally, I'd like to see more net play when up a set....Play Miami!!!! You're gonna win...Go Feds....
