Roger defeated in final

17.03.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger was defeated 6-3, 3-6, 6-7(3) by Novak Djokovic in today's final in Indian Wells.

Roger started brilliantly, taking a 3-0 lead thanks to aggressive play and great serves, taking the first set. Unfortunately he couldn't continue on the exact same level in the second set, falling behind with an early break. In the decider, Djokovic was a break up again and serving for the set when Roger came back with a fantastic return game to  stay in the match. Later, in the tie-break, Roger was clearly defeated 3-7.

MI5 Rafa did win Miami beating Roger for the first time according to Shatir! - "Miami is probably the slowest of the hard courts.
The fact that that's where Nadal first beat Fed should give us a clue.

Roger Listen!!! Your play was better than Djoko but he was smarter than you. Actually he was very exhausted at that time of 4-3 score in 3rd set so tried not to run anymore to get time to recover and he focused on first service shot. Therefore you should try to rally more than net play and minimize your final shot to get rid of unforced error.

SHATIR, RF4W, FANCY, very interesting facts to the courts' speed at the different tournaments. Thank you guys.
Funny enough that Nadal has never won Miami being such a slow court. Hope it stays like that, he he he he.
Roger should lift his trophy number 79 in two weeks. Yeah!!!

Too bad you lost to the tiebreak at the end. It seems like you lost your concentration at the second set. I like your strategy. Stay healthy and good luck.

RF4WORLD,
I think Shanghai is a faster court and should be in top 3 besides Dubai & Cincy... USO was slowed down some 5,6 years back... IW is slow but the ball travels fast in air (according to players on tour).. Yeah, Miami is the slowest HC on tour. Madrid (though clay) is slightly quicker due to the altitude...
