A perfect start in Miami

21.03.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger booked his place in the third round in Miami with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win over Ivo Karlovic (ATP 53).

Roger served perfectly, dropping only three points on serve during the entire match which he opened with a break, giving him the necessary lead to wrap up the first set. Karlovic could not keep up with Roger's baseline and net play and so our champ also went on to win the second set in the tie-breaker after a total of 75 minutes of play.

Roger will meet either Thiemo de Bakker (ATP 162) or Fernando Verdasco (ATP 29) in the next round.

some idiot in newspaper "as.com" wrote that Roger will stop playing when Mirka gives birth to his new son. That Roger said he would return only after everything has gone al right.

This journo also stated that Roger and Mirka will have twins once again. Can anybody CONFIRM THIS PLEASE?

Just watched the first of a new TV Italian police series on BBC 4 - Inspector De Luca, set in Rimimi, Northern Italy during Mussolini's reign. Wonderful!

Might now settle down to some late night action from Miami. I think Rafa is due on soon!

8000 aces is a mark passed by many including: Sampras, Ivanisevic, Karlovic, Roddick, Ljubicic, and our own ROGER FEDERER.

Wow, wow, wow! So many great shots, serves & rallies! One brilliant shot after another! Doesn't get much better than your play in that match!
