Roger in quarters

25.03.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated Richard Gasquet with a great performance today, booking a spot in the quarter finals in Miami with the 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Roger was in charge right from the start and easily secured the first set 6-1. He only had to be patient until 2-2 in the second set before scoring two breaks to wrap up the win in just 49 minutes.

Our champ will play his quarter final against Japan's Kei Nishikori (ATP 21) on Wednesday.

Eesh! The tone here is turning offensive. One loss and every anonymous Tom becomes an expert. Gotta get away before I abuse somebody!

Bye, RFans! Fed Forever! Allez!

Thought he was playing better compared to Indian Wells, with all his serving. Proved us wrong again(its common these days though). Anyway, I don't think he would have had a chance against Djokovic, who is not only improving, but also the fact that the court is slowest among hard courts. Hope that he doesn't sink into oblivion again, if he can play well, there is a good chance for Wimb 8th title.

he has to win these types of matches... kei pushed him to the limit... he still fought it all the way. He still has to work on "head issues" such as the two games ahead in the second set. Imagine if it was Nadal or Djokovic that's a massive NO NO!

I wish! I'm tempted to sleep for "only half an hour more", but I must resist.
Going to get ready and go to work.

Exactly, Fancyfree!
"Fans" but only in health.

There are lots of positives even for this tournament. He's picked up a bunch of points and moves on to an enjoyable part of the season now.

Roger has been in top form this year. This was a hiccup.

For goodness sake put away the knives.
