Roger in quarters

25.03.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated Richard Gasquet with a great performance today, booking a spot in the quarter finals in Miami with the 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Roger was in charge right from the start and easily secured the first set 6-1. He only had to be patient until 2-2 in the second set before scoring two breaks to wrap up the win in just 49 minutes.

Our champ will play his quarter final against Japan's Kei Nishikori (ATP 21) on Wednesday.

A bit of a disappointment. I think he didn't handle the night conditions well.
Should have served it out in set 2 when he was two games away.

Oh well! G'night, Fancyfree & others!
Roger will be back strong for the Davis Cup.

Couldn't watch TV cause need to work but just looked at flashscore; might be our Champ didn't serve well today and suffered a defeat accordingly. Anyway, you played a lot this year up to this moment and did achieve more than we expected. Take a good rest and prepare for the clay season. We all love you.

Bummed, Bummed, Bummed! I never expected it to end here. Now you can rest for a while. This match had that feeling from the start. Thanks for two and a half of tennis. See you soon

Never mind my dearest Maestro. The opponent really played well. Kudos to him. Please do not worry. Now may not be the best time to play Djoko and Nadal may be back to back. Have a wonderful rest. Get more used to the new racket. U will be fine. U have done so well. Love u always.
Thank you for giving us all those lovely shots. Love love love from Japan
