Roger defeated by Nishikori

27.03.2014 | Tennis

Unfortunately Roger lost his quarter final im Miami against Kei Nishikori 6-3, 5-7 and 4-6.

"I just couldn’t find my rhythm on my serve today, which was surprising especially after how well I played and served especially this week. It didn’t take off the same way it did during the day time. You can expect that with the temperature drop," Roger said.

After easily winning the opening set, Roger was up a break twice in the second set but Nishikori always managed to fight back and finally capture the set. In the decider, Roger finally had to admit defeat after 128 minutes of play.

Next up is the Davis Cup rubber in Switzerland against Kazakhstan, starting on April 4.

It has to be a major upset for the Swiss not to come through!
Stan and Rog will have to lose 2 out of 4 games, which in itself would be anomalous.

Jumping the gun Shatir! Stan and Roger have to come through and right now Stan isn't at his best!

Should Italy play Switzerland, I am almost certain I will see them Live in person!!!

Switzerland will probably have it easier if Italy comes through.
But even otherwise, Murray will have to do a heroic job to deny Fed and Stan.

I think the guy is ranked 56, the highest ranking in the team.\

Fognini is one set up but has just been broken by Ward in the second.

Well I think it's just about his attitude.
His game is strong enough to threaten anyone on his day. He's quote in the Murray-Djokovic league, although Novak is a whole another animal when it comes to mental strength.
