Roger and Stan defeated

05.04.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Switzerland is 1-2 down after Roger and Stan lost their doubles match against Andrej Golubew/Alexander Nedowjesow 4-6, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-7(6).

“I’m not overly worried about what happened the last couple of days. We knew the Kazakhs have been playing well in Davis Cup the last few years now. So it’s for us now to shine and prove ourselves. We are good players and we are the favorites still,” Roger said.

The pair had a rough start as they already had to face a break upon Roger's first serve game - enough for the Kazakhs to take a lead in sets. The Swiss duo took a 4-2 lead in the next set but committed too many errors to hold and later lost by very little in the tie-break. After a change of sides - Roger now played on the left side and Stan changed to forehand - they finally captured their first set. In set number four the two jumped to a 3-0 lead in the tie-break but unfortunately did not manage to go all the way.

Tomorrow, Roger and Stan will need to win both reverse singles to advance into the Davis Cup semis. Roger will play Andrej Golubew (ATP 64) while Stanislas Wawrinka takes on Michail Kukuschkin (ATP 56).

Does anyone have a link to a stream that doesn't skip and/or stop every 5 seconds? Or is it like that for everyone else here?
