Roger vs. Stan in final

19.04.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger celebrated a 7-5, 6-2 victory over defending champion Novak Djokovic at the Monte Carlo Masters today, securing his spot in the final against Stanislas Wawrinka.

In the opening set, Roger had to fight off two break - and set - points at 4-5. He then shifted a geat to secure a break himself and eventually serve out the set. He put on pressure right from the start in the second set, jumping to a 5-1 lead and easily sealing the victory.

He will now play his fellow countryman and Davis Cup team-mate Stanislas Wawrinka in tomorrow's final.

Sorry but Fed lost the last opportunity to win MC, one of the trophies missing from his CV

Third set was very poor and with no aggression :(

Neither. Luthi is the Swiss coach. Stan's coach is Magnus Norman and Roger's is Stefan Edberg.

I'll put it another way MI5. Roger could have lost another match to Rafa in the final, had Rafa been in the final

Too bad you lost, but a great win for Stan the Man. Many journalists said Wawrinka was going to lose his level after his loss in the Davis Cup, but look at this, he plays at the top and will stay there for a while.
Good luck at Madrid ;)

Whow coach is Luthi? Is he Roger's or Stan's?
I could be so happy if I could see your win. You are a real gentlaman, a good friend. Love you Roger.
