Roger defeated in final

20.04.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger was defeated by fellow Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 6-7(5), 2-6 in today's final in Monte Carlo.

Roger started well, taking the first set thanks to a break to 3-2. Stan gained momentum, breaking Roger in the second set, but our champ responded with a break himself. The tie-breaker was decided by a mere two points with Stan taking it 7-5. Roger fell two breaks behind to trail 0-4 in the decider and was finally defeated after two hours and 13 minutes of play.

I suppose we should not be surprised about that RAMCHARAN . One minute he was saying he will be off with his wrist for several weeks and then he said for only 2 weeks. So somewhat a confused picture. As you say, good for Stan! One step closer to anther all Swiss final!

The men's matches at Madrid aren't being streamed on DrakulaStream.
Hope that changes tomorrow.

Robredo's match with Agut is about to start.
He'll potentially have to beat two Spaniards - Agut & Verdasco - before he gets to play Roger in R3.

Bananas are good for them in everything FANCY. High in potassium and magnesium. also B6 which I think aids the body in using such things. As you say they only eat half at a time. I often think it would be most unfortunate if an athlete does not like bananas! The trouble with just using salt is it is not an exact science and do not know what minerals and how much are present. I use Himalayan salt. It is meant to contain all the minerals needed by the body and so are meant to be more balanced.

More information can be found if you Google "sodium potassium balance athletes"

Spot on the ball CJ! They also eat bananas for their potassium content, but usually only half of one.

It is important for everyone that they do not get dehydrated and drink plenty. I also agree that those in a hot climate and athletes can deplete their electrolyte levels by just drinking water. Sodium in sea salt and any other salt is always in the form of sodium chloride. The body needs a certain ratio of sodium and potassium for it to function.Athletes also need good amounts of magnesium for muscle and nerves. You see them all drinking "coloured" this will contain all these in a balanced form.

In hot countries, the body loses a lot of fluid and you can buy special combinations of mineral salts, not rock salt, which you dissolve is water and drink. This way you restore balance to your system and prevent say cramping.

The bottom line is I am sure by now Roger is aware of his nutritional needs anyway!
