Roger eases into round two

25.05.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger easily reached the secound round of the French Open after a 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 win over Lukas Lacko.

"I wasn't nervous actually going into the match. It's more just like those hints of fear, maybe yesterday, maybe this morning at one point, just for like five seconds, `Oh, I really hope I don't have to pack my bags today,' that kind of feeling," Roger commented.

Roger will meet a qualifyer in the next round, either Gastao Elias (ATP 178) or Diego Sebastian Schwartzman (ATP 109).

Very well payed Roger. Congratulations!
I was impressed with Schwartzman. I was really expecting him to be steamrollered by Roger, partly due to his size, partly because he is young and partly because he was playing Roger the GOAT. My huge congratulations to him for the game he gave, he was not intimidated and he played extremely well with some wonderful shots.
As to Stefan Edberg, Roger said in an interview Stefan is joining him next week.
