Roger eases into round two

25.05.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger easily reached the secound round of the French Open after a 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 win over Lukas Lacko.

"I wasn't nervous actually going into the match. It's more just like those hints of fear, maybe yesterday, maybe this morning at one point, just for like five seconds, `Oh, I really hope I don't have to pack my bags today,' that kind of feeling," Roger commented.

Roger will meet a qualifyer in the next round, either Gastao Elias (ATP 178) or Diego Sebastian Schwartzman (ATP 109).

How awesome is that. Simon looks like he doesn't want to hang around today. We should be seeing Roger in about 90 minutes.

Venus has the first set but her opponent has a double break in the second.

C I think Venus is looking cool! Pretty flowery dress and white cardigan. I like her swept up hair!

Really doubt Chardy can upset Djokovic but he played rather well in Rome to beat Roger.
He could still make a fight of it.

Simon is up a set and two breaks.
Looks like he's on track to wrap things up in 3 sets.

The William sisters' plot is interesting too! If they both win their matches today, they'll face off in R3.

Hi Paddy long time no see. I don't like your chances of a Chardy upset. :-) Djokovic is in it for the long run.

@Cpiscean...good to see you.
@Shatir...watching Venus just won 1st set 6/2...not sure about the hairstyle...hoping to catch a bit of D'joker/Chardy before the big match...maybe Chardy might upset the apple cart

Hi everyone. Looking forward to Roger taking the court. It all hangs on how Simon feels and if he can pull it together to win quickly. We all know that Serena will be under the hour, she will chew her opponent up and spit her out.

Ok I admit on this site I am outnumbered so far as c'mon goes but I am still very glad to see him gone from the tournament. I actually barrack for Nadal over c'mon so that is saying something. :-) I have also been in Rod Laver arena barracking for Novak over hi
