Two finals on Sunday

14.06.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has booked his spot in tomorrow's final in Halle with a 6-3, 7-6(4) victory over Kei Nishikori.

"It was played on a very fast court and a few shots were going to decide it. They went my way," Roger said.

Roger scored the only break in the opening set, enough to take the set. After trading breaks of serve in the beginning of the second set, with Roger eventually forcing a tie-break with an ace. Our champ fell behind 4-2 at first but then secured five points in a row to close out the match.

In his ninth final in Halle, Roger will play Alejandro Falla, against whom he leads the head-to-head 6-0. And Roger will be playing a second final right afterwards tomorrow, he will be meeting Begemann/Knowle in the doubles along with his fellow Swiss Marco Chiudinelli.

"So a new racket imminent for you perhaps Shatir?"

Perhaps, but not before 2015! I have two good 95" rackets (the ones Dimitrov used to use last year).

Dimitrov is probably more like Djokovic in his attitude etc (read, brattishness). I don't see myself rooting for Grigor in the emotionally invested way that I do for Roger. His game is attractive but that's where the similarities end.

I wonder if Judy Murray is there supporting Deliciano? lol

Dimi has run away with the 2nd set tie-break. 7-1.

Sharapova is in the stands supporting Grigor. Isn't that a first?
